Revival is Calling

Why does the word, revival make some people squirm? You won’t find the word itself in the Bible, but the concept is present throughout Scripture. Revival is a spiritual renewal or restoration—an awakening as people gather in unity, humbly seeking God through repentance, praise, and prayer. It is not something typically broadcast on secular news, but if you follow Christian media, you’ll see that God is on the move, stirring hearts and filling the void in their lives meant only for God the Father, and people are receiving Him!
Personally, I enjoy tent and stadium revivals. I’ve participated in many kinds of revival gatherings, including the Billy Graham Crusade and Nick V Ministries’ Big Jesus Tent. I’m no Billy Graham or Nick Vujicic, but I have led many people to the Lord—watching for those divine appointments: at work, in stores, or even out on the streets with Metro Relief Ministries. I don’t say this to boast, but to encourage others to go about our Father’s business and bring as many people as we can to heaven with us. We don’t want to arrive empty-handed. I still remember driving home from church after asking Jesus into my heart—laughing, crying, and overwhelmed with JOY! I want other lost souls to experience that same spiritual awakening.
There is such a thing as the soul winner’s crown based on 1 Thessalonians 2:19-20. It’s not for us to keep, but to gladly lay it at Jesus’ feet, returning it to Him who paid the price for it. I want to please Him and hear, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
I miss attending weekly prayer meetings—times when we not only pray for the lost and for world events, but also ask God to give us evangelistic hearts. Read about the Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20.
My former pastor used to say, “Is your faith so private that God doesn’t even know about it?” If you are embarrassed to respond to an altar call, share your testimony, or declare Jesus is Lord, remember Luke 9:26 (NIV), “Whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.”
On September 13, 2025, our guest speaker Sean McDowell, Professor of Apologetics at Talbot School of Theology, said, “If you are not insulted for your faith, maybe you’re not sharing your faith.”
I understand the hesitation. On my first missionary trip, I was nervous to share my story and pray with others. But I desired to obey God, and with the encouragement of spiritual leaders, I stepped out in boldness, trusting that God would give me the words to speak… and He did. See Exodus 4:11-12.
I once visited six different denominations in my search for God. What I found instead was confusion. Each denomination seemed to have its own way to worship, pray, and seek Him. But Scripture makes it clear: God is not about religion or tradition; He desires us to have a personal relationship with His Son, Jesus Christ. In heaven, there will be no labels or practicing Catholicism, Protestantism, Pentecostalism—only people from every nation, united in worship before the One True God.
Now is not the time to be lukewarm or preoccupied with preserving church traditions or preferences.
In 1 Samuel 8:1-21 (NIV), God’s people chose to have a king to rule over them like all the nations around them, instead of submitting to the One True King. That was not God’s will for them—or for us. Revival realigns our hearts and restores our focus on the Sovereign God who sits on the throne.
Wake up, children of God. We are called to take back what has been stolen and dedicate it once again to God’s Kingdom and purposes. The enemy may win battles, but God has promised that we will win the war. Stand on His word and His promises, boldly asking for a fresh anointing and a double portion as Elisha did. Let God transform, mold, and shape us into vessels He can use. He is the Potter, and we are the clay (Isaiah 64:8).
Pray for an evangelistic heart. As Dr. Robert Jeffress has said, “This is not the time to retreat. It’s time to get busy with the mission God has entrusted to each of us.”
As Luke 15:7 (NLT) reminds us, “There is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away!” So let us reach out to the lost and to those who have strayed from God. Let us give heaven something to celebrate!
I have been attending prayer meetings at Gateway Church, and I agree with Pastor Daniel when he said, "We need a praying church!" He continued with this prophetic word: "Drops have been falling, but waves are coming. It's a rising tide of revival!"
We have a simple evangelism opportunity coming up called Prayer Day. Wear the “Prayer Works Campaign Tee” on Saturday, February 21, 2026, out in public places—parks, festivals, malls, or stores—ready to pray for anyone God brings across your path. Whether you go alone or with a group, walk prayerfully and make yourself available. Let people approach you for prayer.
See the link below for more info, then sign up and purchase the tee, and be ready for God to use you. If you are in the McKinney, Texas area, join me.
