MIXED MEDIA ART THAT MERGES FIBER, TEXTILES, AND POETRY IN COLLAGE FORM

About the Artist

Creating in my studio

My love for sewing since age nine has evolved into a vibrant art form. By combining poetry and fiber collage, I create original heartfelt wall hangings that bring thought provoking inspiration to any home or office.

My unique art designs prominently feature circles, inspired by a vision I had after viewing a faith-based movie. Circles, with their spiritual overtones, serve as a foundation for each art piece. My intention is to bring joy, hope, and encouragement through my imaginative works of art.

Circles can evoke a multitude of emotions. Traditionally, circles have been symbols of unity, inclusion, and wholeness. With my selection of textiles and colors, I can create a sense of calming comfort, warmth and protection or increase the intensity and energy with coarse, bold, fibrous materials. Whether an art piece is serene or energized, it's my emotional expression of portraying a heartfelt, poetic message of hope and encouragement to one's soul. My inspiration comes from my faith and many travels, locally and abroad. I'm currently living in McKinney, Texas.

CALLED TO BE A CREATIVE

Calling revealed in childhood daydreams,

   sparking imagination with morning sunbeams.

My dream is set in my mind and heart,

waiting for the day to ignite my art.

Collaging textile fibers in color and form,

takes my thoughts and ideas to a new norm.

The desire is strong to create with my hands,

no other vocation satisfies my heart's demands.

With every art piece reflecting my inner being,

gives me hope and peace that's so freeing.

Called to be a creative fulfills my destiny,

refreshing my soul like a tranquil melody.
